Some of the bird pics from our walk at Whitlingham on 30th September 2022
And there’s always one who wants to be alone
Hope you enjoyed.
Now, I wonder what I might have for you next week?

A miscellany of photos from our walk 30th September 2022. Autumn knocks quietly on the door…
That’s all folks…for today. Don’t miss tomorrow’s Tuesday Treats!
On the outskirts of Norwich a lake was formed when aggregates were excavated for the building of the Norwich Southern Bypass. Adjacent to the lake are the tree-clothed flanks of former quarries. It is quite a delightful place whether you want to sail, run, walk or scramble up those hills.
30th September, a misty morning
When dew-sparkled cobwebs line the paths
The mist is so dense, we can’t see the lake
But by the time we reach the river (beyond the lake) that mist is clearing
River Yare, part of the Norfolk Broads complex
We turn then to the wooded hills, to walk our way back
Looking down…
So glad of the steps. Here the soil is eroding and some of those steps are rather steep
And we’re back down to the lake…which we now can see!
It’s a beautiful walk, a beautiful day, and I return home with a camera full of photos…which is why I posted fungi yesterday, and tomorrow I’ll post flora, and Tuesday, for a treat, water birds
Hope you enjoy them all
You cannot know day without the night
Without the dark you cannot know light
You cannot know warmth without the cold
Without the shy you can’t know the bold
Without the below you can’t have above
But without its opposite you still know love

I’m titling this Playaway because it’s children’s play equipment. And because I was playing when I took this shot!
Choose You Own Title, another title from the list Maria Antonia has given us for #2022picoftheweek
A new feature on this blog… while the fungi season lasts.
These are photos taken at Whitlingham Country Park, 30th September 2022. Enjoy
That’s all for now, folks. Plenty more next week!
Poor Polly No-Drawers couldn’t keep a thread on
Every cloth, large or small, she’d shed
Her coat
Her jacket
Her dress
Her shoes
Her socks
Her vest
And yes, even her drawers
We found her hat on a signpost and following the sign, found Polly
She was feeding chickens with grain from the farmer’s silo.
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN
Fungi, fruits, nuts and this… all in autumnal colours
Hope you’ve enjoyed.
Next week…more fungi. It is the season
20th September 2022, we bus to Norwich, then a second bus. To come home we’ll need a third bus, for we’re walking between the bus routes. The walk is along country lanes
Along the lanes gates fail to enclose fields of rusty docks and grasses
Some gates fail to enclose private woods
The lane is lined with trees that hold mistletoe high into the sky
The lane takes us through a village. More gates, these into gardens, these more secure
A footpath takes us out of the village…
and delivers us onto another lane
Where there’s an ivy-bound gate. Not sure this one would open
The gate to this field was secure
Here’s a hefty, hearty tree…
And another gate… though our route takes us to right of this
The last gate…
And that’s all for today… please join me again next Sunday when we find water birds on a misty morn
