13th February dawns a drab, mizzly cold day. But regardless, we bus into Norwich and out again, as far as Poringland, And at once we see the first historic icon.

These two towers are visible for miles around, built upon the second highest place in Norfolk. These transmitting towers were built in 1939 and played a vital role in WWII, see here RAF Stoke Holy Cross
From the ‘high place’ we’re walking down to the river, more or less sea level. The way winds up and down over gently rolling hills.

This Roman town, named for the Iceni (Boudica’s people) was established in first half of C2nd. To quote Wikipedia, “a newly built and sparsely populated frontier town focused on administration and trade.” In other words, not many Brits lived here, and definitely not Boudica.
