Norfolk is notoriously flat. But we do have rivers and some, especially those rising in the centre of the county, do have noticeable valleys. The Wensum is one such river.

The world can go spin
The neighbours make whatever their din
The vicar commit his endless sin
Cos I’m telling you, Jimmy
That full frontal lobotomy
Was the very end of me
Until that op I didn’t have this apathy

With no new fungi photos, I’m returning to our visit to Fritton Woods on 14th November to show you the photos missed first time around. Enjoy
and a close up
That’s all for now, folks. I am running low of fungi photos but I’ve probably enough for another two or three Fridays. So…see you next week.
The wood-elves danced till breaking dawn.
But breaking dawn brought down the frost.
“Too soon!” some few still-sober dancers roared, which to the rushing swirling waters beneath the bridge sounded more like a rustling, less than a whispering.
The frost-giants’ breath claimed the dancing elves, stuck them, frozen, to the stone.
Unable to move, the wood-elves moaned. They had danced too long, frost had come too soon. This was their doom.
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN
Highlights and details from our wintry walk on 14th December 2022. Enjoy
Bringing colour to life…it’s what the sun does best
Oak leaves from the crown of the Winter King
Behold, the princess…
An overspill of jewels…
Gold I give you…
And the Woodland King, himself…
Hope you enjoyed our little shower of gold and jewels. I wonder what I’ll find for you next week?
We continue our frosty walk on 14th December. We began at Thorpe Marriot with a woodland and a frozen pond, and we walked along Marriott’s Way, beside the River Wensum, to Costessey…where there’s more woodland and more frozen ponds. Enjoy
On the banks of the Wensum…
And the smaller River Tud…
Entering another frozen wonderland…
And so to the ponds… no ducks today!
And so back to the River Tud
If you notice I’ve a certain affection for this place, you’d be right. Ever the places of our child days hold us tight
Hope you enjoyed. More photos from another walk next week

To continue this feature I’ve pulled from last year’s unused photos. These are from 7th November when we visited Costessey. Straddling two rivers, the village is blessed with ample woodland. Enjoy
That’s all for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed. More next week
