Sunday Fungi: A Red-belted Hoof

Not the most common form of a Hoof Fungus (aka Tinder Fungus), it caught my eye against the green moss

A Cloudy Backdrop

It seems to me those clouds echo the shapes of the trees. Or is it the trees that echo the clouds?

CCC#69: He Who Made Me

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #69

He who made me did not want me
Left me with the empty pots
He who made me didn’t love me
Left me unpainted, here, forgot
He who cast a mould to form me
Upped his roots and departed
He who made me in his image
Made me uncaring and stone-hearted.

These woeful-looking garden gnomes were left behind by a previous occupier, and I just don’t have the heart to trash them.

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #69

CCC#69

Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.

Observations

Hand-axes, our first achievement
While microliths marked the meso age
Pottery, coiled and burnished, served neo farmers
But copper and tin alloyed ushered in our worst epoch

Sunday Fungi: Breaking Free

Photo: 8th Oct 2019

Oh, the poor birch tree, host to so many fungi. But at least this one has waited for the birch to fall. It’s species? I cannot tell with certainty, but undoubtedly a wood-eater.

A Pointless Port

At harbour’s mouth (the Pool): 21st Feb 2020

The port of Great Yarmouth isn’t as busy as it was 100 years back, or even 50 years), unable to take the container ships and its fishing industry lost. Now its main business is the support and supply of North Sea Rigs. Sad facts echoed in this forlorn vista.

On With the New

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #68: Aug 2018

Breydon New Bridge — seen above — was built in 1983.

I remember it well; it was the year I moved to Great Yarmouth…

… from Costessey, with its old bridge — seen below
