CCC86: Mr Ed

Crimson’s Creative Challenge

“Why have you shut the stable door?”

“Why? To shut him up, of course. All day long, talk, talk, talk. All right when he was younger, when he was earning a crust. But now Mr Ed’s old… I couldn’t take any more of it.”

“You don’t mean you’ve shut an old man in there?”

“Old… man? No. I’d never shut an old man in there. No, that’s the home of Mr Ed, the Talking Horse.”

I remember Mr. Ed. I always wondered how they got the horse to move his mouth, but maybe that is what horses do.

Ha ha! As soon as I saw the title with that image, I knew where you were going. Funny story, and yes, I can see how even a talking horse can get dull if he turns into an old chatterbox!

I do remember watching this show as a kid. (If it was popular and in retrospect ridiculous, we watched it. Except westerns.) But I’m happy to say I either never saw or don’t remember this particular episode.

  10. Mr. Ed was an interesting show. It didn’t come on much when I was growing up, but the concept is easy to get.
