There it is
Beyond the sea
Bigger
World encircling
Around the land masses
Ever bending
No beginning
The Ocean
Never Ending

Here we go again. Photos taken on our walk of 21st November 2023. Enjoy, for the season’s all but done
Jelly ears… oh what a lot!
And the “little ones…”
Getting bigger…
And bigger…
Getting strange…
It’s a stinkhorn, but not the one we usually see. I was delighted with this find!
And these tiny stag horns always delight me…
And just as we left the woodland… this!
Hope you enjoyed.
This is the last Friday Fungi this year. The fungi pics will now return to their former slot as part of Tuesday Treats. See you all then
If you go down to the woods today…
We all know the words of that song
But the tale in that song is wrong
If picnic they’re having
That would be heaven
But no, they are prowling
Prowling and growling
And hoping to lunch upon YOU.
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it.
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN
A few of the colours that caught my eye on our wet walk on 21st November 2023. Enjoy
Lichen and leaf…
Leaf and water…
Old gold…
The wondrous colours of bark…
Holly needs no words…
Encrusted lichen, autumnal leaves
Rose leaves, gold shining out from the dark
That’s all for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed.
Don’t forget Friday Fungi!
21st November 2023. More rain, though with a promise of getting out brighter. We hop a bus. We’re visiting two different woodlands. Neither are extensive, both are managed by local communities. But one serves more as a walk-through from here to there, the other as a destination. So don the waterproofs and let’s go…
Taking photos despite the drizzle that’s muting the autumnal colours
Everywhere’s flooding; as well this woodland is bordered by a drainage channel
We leave that woodland and cross this field…only to discover the water is laying deep across it, hidden by the grass
Heading to the next woodland. For now it’s stopped raining. My walking shoes have proven themselves fully waterproof!
A disused railway separate the parishes
Brighter climes ahead!
My favourite woodland pool
This woodland is more open… more light to see those colours
But more holly then darkens the view
And here comes the rain again. This time heavy. Time to put the equipment away and go find a bus.
Hope you enjoyed our walk though so overcast and misty. Maybe next week’s photos will be brighter and sharper!
Although we have had a scattering of snow, and temps low enough to produce a crunch, winter doesn’t usually arrive on our coast quite this early. This photo was taken 30 mile inland, last December.
On Ice, one of the titles from Maria Antonia’s #2023picofthe week
That song I hear
Everywhere
Haunts me, trips me, makes me cry
I don’t know why.
The words?
Reminding me of better days
Of careless life
Of picnics and games amidst the May
Nostalgia they say
Is the curse of our day
Clutching us
Disallowing our play
But it could be the rhythm
Those drums, those chords
Coursing through veins
Reviving pains
When we dance with them.

Photos taken of fungi found on our walk to Fritton Woods, 17th November 2023, Part 2! Enjoy.
I’ve tried to group these according to shared colour
An odd one, mushroom-coloured…
Little mushroom-coloured fungi!
Two-toned, chocolate and grey…
Looks blue but could be purple (see that little one tucked underneath)…
Pink…
And some fungi that don’t look like mushrooms!
That’s all for now, folks. I do hope I’ve satisfied your visual hunger!
How was Eric to know that beyond that fence was the blue witch’s domain?
Never again would he ramp through that glade with his wife and young son.
Cast into blue beasts, that’s a strong fine for the crime of trespass.
