That Sid and Sue got up to dance
Sensuously slithering across the floor

She said, when I asked her why

She said at the centre of the wood

Was a pool that sparkled bright
Alight with glints by day and night
And once you’ve seen it you can’t look away
That’s a spell cast by the fae.
Mother said I had to be good

They’d up with me and fly me away
And I’d die.
