9th January 2024, first walk of the year, and it’s a tad cold, and the wind is howling. But we’ve been promised sunshine. So hats, gloves and thermals on, and let’s go. We’re headed to Whitlingham Country Park. Although we expect some flooding, at least we know we’ll see swans!

We wanted to circumambulate the lake but this isn’t the only stretch impassable without thigh-high waders. And so we decide to head for the woods. We’ll pick up that trail next Sunday.
