Those months of deep blue sky were boring
Happy to see grey skies with weather warning
Rain that hammers the leaves don’t leave me yawning
Enthusing, exciting, but alas inviting
Wasps, jams, fruits and other sweeties wanting
Shoo them, curse them, tell them to go
So much for meals alfresco
50 words written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Alfresco

A very beautifully written piece! 👍 I can imagine the whole thing.
Have a wonderful weekend! New weeks start Sundays in my country, though. ☺️

Yea, mine starts on Sunday too. Though the working week, that fossilised remnant of the Industrial Revolution, begins on a Monday

I’ll be glad when those wasps fly away. I have a nest in my garden

I had a traumatic encounter when early teens. I’m now phobic, though I try to reason my way around it

A damn housefly decided I needed to be up at 5AM today. I got up alright – long enough to find the flyswatter … Then I got up and read your fine poem!

5 a.m. is a fine time to be rising. It’s when inspiration hangs its sparkling presence in the air!
