This makes me wonder why no seller of authentic English fish and chips has ever had a chain in the USA. We had Arthur Treacher’s at one time- but I couldn’t vouch for its authenticity. Of course- fish and chips is served widely- but for the most part the fish is previously frozen uniform filets.

A good fish & chip shop has the fish delivered ‘iced’ not frozen, and usually the shop cuts them into suitable sizes. I prefer plaice. And that’s what I get, one side of the place

Probably not. It’s not really keto friendly. I didn’t have a full portion of chips but picked at my daughter’s! But the fish, even with the batter, is good

“Cromulent”: not a term I’ve heard before. Don’t think it’s made its way across the Atlantic.

I didn’t know it, I had to look it up. That’s what I like about Sammi’s prompts: She expands our vocabularies!

A just reward! We discovered a diner about 30 minutes from our house with authentic fish & chips, the best I’ve had since our summers at the shore.
