But The Fish And Chips…

The day was too hot
The wind too strong
The walk too long
Not a butterfly seen all along
There was scarcely a flower
The boats were covered against a shower
But oh, when we reached the pier
The fish and chips, proper cromulent, were

    This makes me wonder why no seller of authentic English fish and chips has ever had a chain in the USA. We had Arthur Treacher’s at one time- but I couldn’t vouch for its authenticity. Of course- fish and chips is served widely- but for the most part the fish is previously frozen uniform filets.

  7. A just reward! We discovered a diner about 30 minutes from our house with authentic fish & chips, the best I’ve had since our summers at the shore.
