5th May dawned magnificently bright and clear. Yet forecasts warned of a thunderstorm in early afternoon. We decided not to go too far from home, instead we circled the town: through the churchyard, down to seafront, along the beach, a cut across a housing estate to Bure Park beside River Bure, and back to home. Here we go…
St Nicholas church, Gt Yarmouth
Looking south along the beach…
Looking east…
Keeping a weather-eye landward…
Retreat to the park…
The park has everything… trees
Water…and a swan’s nest…
Cosy grassy glades…
And white poplars alongside the Bure
And by the look of that sky, we might just make it home in time!

This is a beautiful place to walk/ visit. Thanks for sharing

Always my pleasure. I sometimes wonder why I go out of town to take photos when I have all this on hand. 🙂

Yea. Though I’d also say for hills (the coast is so flat in an already flat region) and proper woodland, and rolling rural vistas, and greenery!

That’s true.

Off to an ancient woodland tomorrow, though via rural lanes. But it’ll be end of June before I post the results

You know there’s always a delay between my walk, and the post… I purposely keep some in reserve for those weeks when weather or events prevent me from getting out. But it was a good walk, the woodland delightful

I love those poplars. In all seasons. But they really do pop against an imminently stormy sky!

A beautiful day despite weather predictions! Your adventures around Great Yarmouth captured so well through thoughtfully captioned images took us on an intimate tour of St Nicholas Church, Nice Beach (I guess), local scenery, and the serenity of Bure Park. Each photo holds its own charm, showing the unique beauty of each location visited that morning. And how wonderful that you made it safely home just ahead of potential storms! I loved the image of Sun glitter. That mesmerizing photo capturing sunlight reflecting off the ocean waters is truly remarkable! As if diamonds sparkling under the bright light, every ripple glistens with radiance; it creates a sense of magic within the simplest form of nature. Through your keen eye and skilled photography skills, you managed to capture the essence of that moment when time stood still. What a sight to behold and hold dear forever! 👍👏👌😊

Sometimes we find the nicest scenes right near home. This was a lovely walk all the way.

Yes, and you didn’t see all of it. It’s always a difficult choice, which ones to use. Which is why sometimes my walks spread over 2 weeks

Oh, I don’t doubt that for a second. I have so much trouble choosing photos for my posts so I know from whence you come 😉

If they were physical photos, I think I’d be buried in them by now!
