27th March having dawned bright, we bused to Norwich, thence to walk Marriott’s Way, to as far as we cared. Last week we left the walk as we reached the city bounds. Beyond that boundary, there lies Costessey. Come walk with us…
We’ve been weaving over and alongside the Wensum, but here is the Tud, a much smaller river for tiddlers to swim in and toddlers to paddle.
It flows through what is now a recreation ground but in my long ago young days was a raw-looking old gravel diggings
The old pits now are flooded…
A certain ‘steepness’ reveals the history
And it’s back to Marriott’s Way. We’ll catch the bus home from the next village
And again we join the Wensum. If the Tud is for toddlers to paddle, this one’s for young teens to plunge into and swim (as I did, back in the day)
The last bridge before we leave the Way, and another boundary crossed.
Heading now for the bus with the camera’s hunger thoroughly sated. Hope you enjoyed.
Beautiful pictures Crispina.

Very much enjoyed. That first picture is divine! (And all the others absolutely lovely. That before last one with that huge weeping willow… Sigh (or is it some other kind of tree?)

It’s a weeping willow. It’s marks the run of the river

Looks like an amazing place, nice to see where you spent some of your childhood.

Thank you, Frank. Although I subsequently moved to the coast, I frequently return to my childhood haunts. So refreshing in many ways
