A few photos of flowers and colours seen on our first walk of the month (6th February). Enjoy!
February, the month when hazel catkins catch the sun…
When snowdrops are everywhere…
Sometimes we find them mixed in with winter aconite. Always a special delight
And red deadnettles…though those will remain until the harshness of winter finally kills them
And here’s another that makes its appearance this month: Lord and Ladies, a close kin of the Arum Lily
Last year’s fruits remain…Rose Hips, no longer enticing
Last year’s bramble leaves lend welcome colour…
So too the copper of beech leaves…
And daffodils make an unexpected early appearance…
And even more unexpected, though barely visible amongst the scrub…
That’s all for now folks. Hope you enjoyed
Could our first week of February be any different? Lovely share.

I’ll tell you what… February is going out with a vengeance over here… I just went to visit my daughter in the hospital and had to drive through slush and visibility-nil to and fro. I need a nap.

Awful. Let’s hope March improves for you

Well, yesterday, February wanted us to remember it by dumping a good 8-10 inches – the ones called for last week that never came…
March is very untrustworthy

I’ve heard from others how treacherous the early March weather is being. And we have snow forecast for next week!

March is unpredictable – most of the crazy snowstorms have occured in March.

A friend lives in London and was showing off her snow. We set her straight showing her OUR snow 😉 Weather has been crazy all over.

Whenever it snows here, and people go, Oh wow! I remember my childhood. Now THAT was snow

So true. There are so many areas that used to get decent amounts of snow and no longer do. Even here, much as I have been complaining, it’s nothing compared to way back when!

We get a lot of rain. Though having said that, January was very dry!

Doesn’t that just figure!

Yep. Weather! Huh. Or as my father used to say, Weather the weather, whether the weather be cold or hot, whether the weather or not. Cos he was like that. Don’t know where I get it from!

Ah yes… the weather the weather expression… I have heard it before.

I think my father got many of his little sayings from Spike Milligan & the Goon Show

Possibly. I just remember hearing that one somewhere.

Beautiful, so good to see spring popping somewhere

Despite most days we’ve had grey concrete slabs masquerading as sky, spring is here
