Lost: My Mind

Down upon the woodland floor
Amongst the toadstools thin and tall
In wistful whispers for you, I call
Seeking your invisible door

Lost, my mind, in your enthral.

I crawl and slither, worm and squirm
Tear my hands on bloody thorns
Scrape my knees on fallen horns.
Why did you leave me? I’m infirm.

Brilliant I’ll accept. But absolutely? No, I’m too modest for that. But honestly, I appreciate and am humbled by the comments I receive here, by you and by others. I’m too old to be a *like-bug*, but it does swell my heart. I thank you.

-Posting a second time because my WordPress app seems to be acting again and comments are not getting posted and this poem is too beautiful to escape notice. 🙂

  7. Lovely combination of a gorgeous photo and wonderful words 🙂 I imagine those first few lines could equally refer to the search for the fungi as well as a hidden fairy door.
