Rosie sitting by the brook
Feet in water, head in book,
Isn’t worried in the least
All-absorbed in a fictional feast
Doesn’t hear the stalking beast
Rosie too late turns to look
Comes the killer with a reaping-hook
Rosie sitting by the brook
Feet in water, head in book,
Isn’t worried in the least
All-absorbed in a fictional feast
Doesn’t hear the stalking beast
Rosie too late turns to look
Comes the killer with a reaping-hook

For once you’re more horrible than me. I was expecting something simply pastoral. Based on personal experience?

Nah, I feel bad about it, cos she was quite amenable. Then I do this to her.
But she just looked so vulnerable, sitting there with her back to us. If I hadn’t already decided to use the photo for this post, I would have used it for Sammi’s Vulnerable prompt

Moral of the story, dear readers: don’t turn your back on Crispina! 😉

She seems like me, head in book but that was too tragic…

Sorry. I think I might be doing a Picasso and going through a ‘tragic’ phase (equates with his blue)

Always look behind you. You might find me there, with my deadly camera.
But I did ask her permission first.

Yes I read that. How nice of you to ask. As I look behind myself 😏

We should never post a person’s photo on the internet without permission. We don’t know what ‘complications’ they might have in their life.

Oh I knew that. Having dealt with Performers. Personal images are usually a no-no unless of course they are Stock images and the individual released there use to the universe LOL for a price.

Yea. They’re a class apart.

Nice rhyme, I didn’t realise it was Lizzie Bawden’s mother sitting there.

Ah, that’s who she is. 🙂

Was that a reference to Lizzie Borden? The Axe Swinger?

Bobby’s reference was, but not mine

Poor Rosie, sliced where she sat. I wonder if they ever found the culprit, 🙂

I’m going to say it was her reflection – that would be creepy!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, indeed it would. Maybe her alter ego.

Oh man, what if the reflection is the person she’d *wanted* to be, and it kills her because she’d failed to *become* who she wanted? Oh man, taking this too far…

Ooh this is deliciously creepy Crispina, from a carefree, jaunty start to that killer last couple of lines.
