Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
If you tag it #CCC others should be able to find it by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
Simple caption this week: “Reflections”

That’s very good. Nails it, bang on.

It was my second field trial in meditative levitation. I’d already passed the first, lifting a politician’s honesty from his guts to his head. Now I had to move myself across this stream. I concentrated on my mantra, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.” Felt some cold air underneath and realized I shouldn’t have worn the torn pants. Almost lost my concentration and dropped in the water. So I concentrated harder, harder, until, to my surprise, my ears popped. I opened my eyes, just in time to see the airplane whose turbulence knocked me out of my trance and sent me plummeting! Time for the emergency mantra, “Thunderbirds are GO!” It was like retrorockets, or passing a ton of gas, sending the water flying in all directions. And wouldn’t you know, when I touched down, I was back on the side I started from!

Brilliant, Brian. You had me laughing all the way through. I’m still chuckling. And Thunderbirds .. that really is Retro!

So, yea, I supply the raw materials, gov, but it’s the punter who mixes and ferments it. Leaves my hands in non-addictive and fully legal state. My hands are clean.

Says the author of a sweeping epic in which all sorts of sexual taboos are violated, along with various killings, massacres, and the occasional simple (or even complex) sadism.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’ll admit to the killings, the massacres, and the various sadistic practices, but … oh, yea, you’re right, there is a modicom of breaking sexual taboos. There’s also a certain amount of drug abuse, but soft drugs, soft. Okay, so they’re mind-altering, trance-inducing ….and I guess I have to admit to the trans-animalism. Fine, gov, you’ve got me; banged to rights. Or lefts

Of course, I’ve written about sex magicians, horny wyrms, sexually confused vampires, psychic killers, and cross-species breeding. So, kettle, hello, I’m pot!
LikeLiked by 1 person
See, see, cross-species breeding. All I have is a guy with a crush on a heron. But, I’ll accept that. Though, are modern pots and kettles black. Cos they’re no longer hung over the fire.

Fair enough; we have pots and kettles in many colors. Sort of like the “I Am Curious” films.

Since I have not been initiated into the genre of I am Curious movies, never having dated a Swedish movie buff, I can’t really comment on that.

I took it last week (it’s a few steps away from the pool). I was having lunch, and there was the woman. The composition was perfect. So when I finished my lunch, and got my shoes back on, I asked if she’d mind if I took a photo. I did tell her I’d post it on my blog. But she was happy with that. I think she was rather chuffed.

Well this is a turn around 🙂 I lie. I saw it late last night/actually early this morning. I now see the photo history. My twizzling was quite close to your explanation. Yet again I lie LOL Thinking I’ll post it tomorrow.

Jen, you’ve just totally confused me.

Oops sorry. I was writing it while thinking about what I’d written. If that makes any sense LOL

So. I saw the picture. Then I wrote a story. But hearing what you wrote made me wonder if it was applicable. I’ll change it around a bit 🙂 <– scatter brain

But here’s what confuses me. I didn’t publish Crimson’s Creative Challenge #25 until 12:00 GMT today. And I’ve made no comment on it, given no information. My own take on it I shall post tomorrow.
So therefore I’m thinking your comment belongs to a different post. Possibly my poem, for Sammi’s Challenge: Vulnerable.
Could I be right?

I was up shortly after you posted it. Couldn’t sleep but too tired to engage you on the post. You said you took the picture of the girl right?

Ah, right. Now I’ve got it. Yes, I did say that in answer to Sammi’s comment. And your comment follows that. So now that is sorted. Phew! I apologise. Busy day, trying, unsuccessfully, to multitask!

Plus I already wrote Sammis 🙂 No apologies necessary 😊👍

Hello. I have been seeing you around and finally checked out your prompt, per a recommendation from Sammi Cox. I often have trouble with photo prompts but managed 50 words for this one.

Hi Crispina, my thought this week:

I could feel the crunch of Crisp’s hips as she settled herself on the grassy bank to eat her lunch. And the hesitation before forcing herself to stand again. Thankfully, the creaks aren’t yet that bad with me. 🙂

A good and telling shift in viewpoint. Dale, that’s one of the things I found hardest to deal with in writing fiction, keeping in mind how everyone has their own viewpoint. One would think it natural, a matter of course. But it’s too easy to think everyone thinks like you.
And yet, as in your piece, different viewpoints not just create conflict, they make it significant.
