Twice Daily Covered

Encrusted groyne at Mundesley

Encrusted groyne at Mundesley: September 2016

Sand-coated sea-stones, reds and blacks
Masquerading tumbled green glass
White and coloured quartz that glisten
Jet and precious amber microscopic dust
Cockles, lugworms, winkles, driftwood
Starfish, crabs and mermaids’ purses
Blackened groynes grown thick with limpets
Castles, buckets, spades abandoned
Red weeds, green weeds, bladderwrack and more
Shells and shingle, muted jingles
Are twice daily covered on our seashore

I thank you, Violet. I did have a diddy but of trouble hitting the word-count. Delet a word, the rhythm goes. Delite a line, the who;e thing falters. And it kept trying to turn itself into prose. Ho-hum, how did Shakespeare manage if?

Loved it and the photo you chose was almost dizzying!
