It stems from the day I moved from Norwich to Yarmouth (which also saw tha end of a relationship) The road runs endlessly across the flat marshes. At at the time Talking Heads hadn’t long brought out their song, Road to Nowhere. It all kinda combined to produve the poem. The photo was taken about 3-4 miles to north of the Norwish to Yarmouth road. Ta muchly for the like, and for the previous. 🙂

And having traversed that marsh by both road and rail you are aware of how pernicious that song. Though the song doesn’t refer to my hometown but the desitination of us all. 🙂

The undiscovered country.
Despite the tourist literature, it’s not Iceland.

Who has likened it to Iceland? We have no volcanoes. Though the local dialect had much in commen with Norse (actually Old Dne). I’d say it more like Netherlands … which considering the bulk of the population hails from that west-looking land, is hardly surprising. That that’s the source of the rest of the local dialect. 🙂
