Most of my owls live solitary lives scattered amongst my books. But these two hooted and (h)0wled; they wanted no longer to be apart, they wanted t’woo together.
And so I set the stage and turned the spotlight upon them. And there, amongst my books, they performed their duet: To-wit t’woo.

It’s a great picture and duet, but your books?! I want to read them…

The picture is staged, so it a matter of what books did I want to put in it. The top one ‘The Storytelling Animal’ seemed right for the owl. I then selected books that covered quite an arc of history, generally with a mythology slant. They make great reading. 🙂

Ah, and there I thought they were just lying around. 😀 Great selection nonetheless.

They were lying around … on my bookshelves. All mine, all read, all loved, But specifically chosen for the photo.

I love that they hooted and (h)owled their way into a duet! 🙂

Yea, I thoght I’d play with some words. Owls lends themselves so well to-wit.

I can definitely see how that collection of books would inspire a hooting duet! Do you have many of these owl figurines? What great symbolism to have them on and around your book shelves, and an attractive bird, too.

At the last count, 54. But they’re not all on the books shelves; some are in the bedroom. And they range from small to not-quite-so-small, and made of semi-precious stones to embroidered or woven into cloth. Almost all were presents.

I’m impressed that you know the number! My mother is probably nearing that number with pine tree figurines. She started decorating their house with them at Christmas, and next thing you know, she receives them as gifts every year, so her collection is growing in leaps and bounds.

I counted them at the last addition.
For years I added a new bell, or bells, decoration every Christmas, but the last two years I’ve cut back loads I what I use, so mostly the bells stay in the box. Very easy with them to climb into silly figures, especially when buying a garland of them!

Oh yes, holiday decorations can get out of hand very easily! But even so, I’d be the one saying, “Well, just one more bell wouldn’t hurt…” 🙂

Yea, and so I did. But … where to put them?

Ah, back to the storage issue again! Good point. I was thinking last year that I might have to start culling my holiday boxes of items I don’t use much anymore for that very reason.

I was thinking less of storage but more where to put them. Those owls get right ratty if I crowd them with Christmas knicknacks. 🙂

At Christmas, my shelves get pretty crowded too. It makes my post-holiday cleaned apartment feel almost minimalist by comparison. (But only by comparison!)

I know what you mean. Today I moved just one of my indoor plants through to the kitchen. Lo! Look at all this space.

They’re not all individual. Some are embroidered onto cushion covers, so there are some groups. Been collecting for years

Well, my mother collected swans. A water bird, as might be expected of a watery Piscean. But I’m an airy Gemini, so I get the owl.

I was going through my email and came across this link. Couldn’t help but click on it. 🙂
It was the first day I used an Owl in my signature(Oct.12,2019) and you asked if I knew you collected owls. I said NO and you said “Hey, you do now.” 🙂
I wish I’d sent you one this Christmas but Lisa Angel didn’t have any.
Just reminiscing about the good times. Thank You 🦉🦋💐❤
