Halloween, that season of screams
That night of scary nightmare dreams
Of horror flix on movie screens
Of blood and bones
Vampires and witches
Of bin-liner dresses and talcumed tresses
Of murder done in the name of fun
But out on the streets
For the tiny tots in their fancy togs
It’s all about sweets
And being convivial
58 words written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Convivial

It’s a spooky season, indeed! 👻

Truth, I don’t take much notice of it, but my friends and family do. Enjoy the day… or night

That’s really great. We don’t celebrate Halloween here.
Thank you! It’s noon here. You too, enjoy your day! ☺️

Halloween is more of an American thing, originated to keep the Irish migrants out of trouble by making it a family affair… or so I’ve been told

I think you’re right 👍 It’s popular there after the massive Irish migration.

Yep. And of course, UK has to follow what America does (said sarcastically). Though it is low key here

This is the perfect Halloween poem I love it especially this line – ‘Of bin-liner dresses and talcumed tresses’ 🙌 Happy Halloween 👻
