More more more photos from our walk on 27th May 2026. Enjoy!!!
🔼 A wonderful thistle, standing proud amongst the fen grasses
🔼 Red campion, entangled with the grasses 🔽 Ragged robin, bravely standing clear of the grass around it
🔼 I offer no apology for the photos of Dame’s Violet. I love that colour 🔽
🔼 Waterside plants, yellow flag. And not all blue flowers are forget-me-not. The darker blue are brooklime, a species of speedwell 🔽
🔼 Dog roses in abundance 🔽⏬
🔼 Grass is a flowering plant. See all that pollen. Oops, a-cho!🔽
That’s all for today, my friends. Don’t forget to check out Friday Flyers.

Gorgeous photos, Crispina!

Isn’t it. I had it growing in my garden for a couple of years but… it’s not returned this year. It has an absolutely divine scent. I must make sure I have it for future years

Always my pleasure. As I often say, what point me taking the photos if I then hide them away. I’m happy they give others pleasure 💖

Such a beautiful nature walk🌸
The flowers, colours, and quiet details really bring the scene to life especially the thistle, dog roses, and those vibrant blues.

To look across those meadows, it all seems beigey-brown. Yet there’s so much colour once you learn to focus

We keep getting mild overnight frosts that I am afraid will keep what few flowers we do have away this year… But at least it’s warding off the wildfires…..

Anything that wards off those fires has to be good, though such a shame that it means the flowers are able to shine forth!

Thank you, Indira. We have arrived at that time of year. Must make the most of it, the flowers fade in the high summer heat and the natural world seems to become colourless
