A medley of photos taken along the first part of our walk on 26th September 2026. Enjoy…
It’s at this time of year that garden escapees and imported trees set themselves apart from our native flora. 🔼 Horse Chestnut is early to colour into autumn 🔽 Himalayan Balsam is happy to carry on flowering
🔽 And here’s another import, though it’s not known for certain whether these chunky snails arrived with the Romans or the Normans
🔼 I never tire of taking photos of the Alder 🔽 nor of the Bittersweet vine, whether in flower or berry
Two summer flowers catching up after the drought 🔼 Water Mint 🔽 and Meadow Buttercups
🔽 Yarrow is native, and Yarrow will flower throughout the winter, if that winter is mild
🔽 Rose Hips glow in the sun
🔼 No, those white patches aren’t the dabbling sunlight, they’re the Lime Tree leaves adorning themselves in autumn foliage…patchily 🔽 These seedpods of Broom seem to hint at Halloween
🔽 And a magnificent cobweb. Now we know it’s nearly Halloween
That’s all for now, folks. Part Two next week. Oh, and there’ll be a Friday Fungi for all you fungi fiends!

Love those gorgeous snails! 🐌 💜

The Meadow Buttercups and the Yarrow both look so gorgeous! And look at that little snail climbing the stem of a plant. 🐌
