Saint Edmund’s Coat

Sammi has set us a prickly one this week
A word not in my vernacular vocabulary
A word requiring access to Google
Ingenious service which set my sight
On our own Anglo-Saxon saint
King Edmund, martyred defending England
Who died in an erinaceous coat
Long may his memory reign

  4. Great poem, Crispina. I’m not surprised you chose to write about St Edmund, given your expertise in Anglo-Saxon history! 😁
