A collection of miscellaneous photos taken on our visit to Lucy’s Meadow, 12th May 2025. Please enjoy
More May blossoms. Well, it is the month for it πΌ
πΌ Iconic fenland flower, ragged robin π½ Pink campion, a hybrid of the white and red forms, and far more common
πΌ I’m more used to seeing marsh marigolds in this environment, but here we have a golden clump of buttercups
Two bashful woodland dwellers: Collared dove πΌπ½ Muntjac deer
Time to get down low: Ground ivy πΌπ½ Speedwell
Three wild relatives of the cabbage and mustard family: πΌ Charlock π½ Dame’s violet β¬Lady’s smock (with buttercup)
And no walk would be complete without at least one butterfly pic. Although we saw many more than this Speckled Wood, only this one settled long enough to take its photograph π½
That’s all for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed

What a complete delight of photos, Crispina!

Thank you, Dale. After the monochromatic green and white of the vistas on Sunday, I was pleased to be able to flash some colour

Beautiful flowers and deer. Love the dove too.

Thank you, Sadje. I love it when I can capture a shy deer. We’d seen one earlier in the walk springing its way across a meadow far too speedy to grab the pic!

I think it’s the same dove that I caught on camera getting it on with his beloved last year! π€«ππ

It helps if you’ve already got the camera honing in on something nearby!
