A few of the details from our walk on 21st September 2024. Enjoy
Berry season: spindle and sloes make for a prolific and colourful display
While holly and lord and ladies colour us red
Chestnuts and acorns provide the nuts
The fungi are beginning to raise their fruiting bodies
The last of the dragonflies dries itself in the morning sun
A Large White butterfly graces a purple-headed thistle, while the Red Admiral goes in for a colour-clash on these deep crimson haws
And that’s all, folks! Hope you enjoyed

A veritable feast for the birds, magic.

I tend to think of this season as lacking interest for the camera. And I’m always delighted to find that isn’t so!

Beautiful colours and I enjoyed seeing the last of the flying creatures!

We still have a few butterflies in my garden, and yesterday a dragonfly appeared. But they won’t remain much longer

Wonderful selection, Crispina! I honestly don’t know why I have so much trouble finding fungi over here. I must not be looking in the right places π

I’m surprised how much we’re finding, already. I always think of November being our best fungi season

Goes to show! I haven’t had a walk in the woods lately. Maybe I’d be lucky.

I was out this week, a new woodland explored. Wow! But that walk won’t feature here for a while yet. I seem to have a backlog!

Yes, you always share quite a bit after the walks. π

My devious device to hold some back for those weeks when I can’t get out for the walk, which happens!

Nothing wrong with that! I admire that you do. Most times, if I don’t post about something, I put it away in the lost pile.

I have ‘in stock’ several days’ shoots from last year’s holiday, and at least one beach walk, and one along our estuary. All ready for a photographic dearth!

Thank you, Sadje. We’re on the slow gliding into the pale and icy season now, so I celebrate every shot of colour I can find to tempt my lens

Iβm sure youβll find something colorful to take a picture of in the winter too.

That’s when every small flash of red or green shouts ‘look at me’!

It’s as well that we have a few evergreen trees and shrubs, some with red berries!

Yes, and they look awesome with a white snowy background

I bet you do! When I think of how many photos I have that never get shared…

I don’t like that they don’t get shared. I might return from a walk with 350 photos. And how many do I use? 24 for the 2 posts per week, plus some odds and those I use on twitter

I know what you mean. I told you I lost four years of images? I am heartbroken because I KNOW there were some in there I loved. I just have to mourn and have learnt from my mistake of not backing up. (Or doing like you, not only backing up but keeping all your cards.)
