Since We’re Apart

Boredom
The bane of my existence
Where’s the challenge, the excitement
Every day, this sameness
Bereft
Since you left
I long to expire
Be buried in a cold earthen grave
For with my ungodliness it’ll never be beneath the church nave
I long for a stake
Driven deep into my heart
Since we’re apart
To rapidly end this vapid existence.

    There’s a 2012 movie, “Byzantium,” in which the attitude of vampires who lives for centuries gets some examination. You might like it. (Note that the “Byzantium” in the title does not mean any of the movie takes place in Istanbul.)
