And now for the fungi. We were not looking, yet somehow we found them…

🔼 Turkey-tails 🔽 some kind of yellow crust

🔽 I’m thinking this is probably another crust or a bracket. What we’re seeing is the underside of the fungus

🔼 Oysterlings. There are several species, I’m not sure which one this is 🔽 Yellow brain. That’s quite an easy one to recognise!

    1. I would say they’re a good standby for the flowerless months. But there’s more fungi in evidence at the moment than usual. For which I’m thankful, for many/most of the wild flowers are very late putting in an appearance

      2. These iron sculptures are set 1 mile apart. The entire trail is 25 miles. I have photos of almost all (I miss a small section in the middle)

    1. There is one fungi that I only ever find in February (see next week’s post) The rest, all I can say is it’s been very very wet!!!!!
