28th November 2023 we hop a bus to Norwich, and another bus out. We’re headed to Ringland Hills. Not sure if we’ll find fungi, but we ought to find colour. And we do…
Rain preceded us, but it’s clearing now, creating veils over Wensum Vale. And the sun is struggling to appear…
And where rain and sun meets…
Finally our oaks are showing their autumnal colours…
In fact, every tree is dressed in autumn colour…
No muddy tracks for us today. Yay!
Beehive Lodge, my favourite place along this lane…
Not everyone has swans outside the garden gate! And there’s not just one…
And the mallards call us: They also swam!
A glimpse through the autumnal foliage of the hills where we’re heading…
Here the woodland dips down to the road, inviting us in…
The sentinel. Birch is the first coloniser of future woodlands. Oak soon follows. But though we’ve the invite, we’re stopping here for something to bite. Second half next week!
Hope you enjoyed.

Lovely photos. The rainbow shot is magical. Love the swans too.

I’d say they were the highlights, at least of this first part 🙂

Thank you, Chel. Though I’m not responsible for the beauty! 🙂

These photos are just so lovely and deep with colour. That beehive lodge is particularly lovely!

Photos taken and edited with love. This used to be my Sunday afternoon walk when I was a schoolgirl, and later with my children

I don’t doubt that, my friend. And lovely that you are still walking the same paths!
