14th June, the day dawns bright and we’re heading to the North Norfolk coast, to visit one of my favourite towns, more of a fishing village than a glitzy resort. Sheringham. Please do join us.
The fishing here is small scale, the catch of crabs and lobsters simply delicious.
There is no wharf, jetty, harbour. There’s only the sharply sloping shore. Boats have to be secured!
The lifeboat station, crewed by courageous and dedicated volunteers, funded by donations
When tide is high the beach consists of sea-tumbled stones, almost all are flints. When tide is low the beach is this beautiful flat expanse, inviting barefoot strolling
The promenade makes for easy walking…
Somewhere to stop for a coffee and cake…
Plenty of traditional beach huts…somewhere to hide away from the wind!
A busy corner!
Typical Sheringham architecture. Love it.
Hope you enjoyed this little visit. I did.

What a lovely colorful beach.

It’s not always like that, believe me. This can be a very rough coast
