Two invasive plants but so very different 🔼 Himalayan Balsam invades and clogs our waterways. But the bees love it and it’s so pretty 🔽 A Bramble Briar entwined with bindweed. Here’s another pretty flower, and the bees love this too and we love its berries. But it shows up all over the place and is nigh impossible to eradicate

Wetland delights 🔼 Up close and personal with Purple Loosestrife 🔽 Reedmace surviving, yet the ground is dry enough to support Ragwort and Thistles ⏬ Looking like an orchid, this Marsh Woundwort likes it damp

Two yellow flowered plants 🔼 Common Fleabane and 🔽 no longer in flower so I can’t give you a definite ID but my guess is Birdsfoot Trefoil

Into the edibles. Maybe! 🔼 Wild Carrot. It might be the grandma of today’s carrots but you’d have to be desperate to make a meal of its root 🔽 Sloe might vaguely resemble a plum but… draws a mouth tighter than a purse!

Minor…disabilities are creeping up on me with the cycling of years. In consequence I’m having to look for shorter walks. I miss the longer ones but one has to cut the coat according to the fabric (there speaks a former dressmaker!)
