Don’t speak to me of your spending-spree
Nor your vacation by the sea
Truth, my dear, I fail to see
What reasons for your fanciful glee
Overspent
The bank’s not going to relent
They’ll charge you double
Their fees will cause you trouble
Paying that will burst your bubble
I ought to spank you hard
Like the time you spray-painted the yard
Listen to me
Shepherd your money, that’s the key
71 words written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Key
What a fantastic poem, and I love that ending 😊

The spray-painted yard? What we’ll do for a rhyme? As to shepherding money, that was my mother’s favourite expression. But I then had to find a suitable graphic! 🙂

The graphic works. 🙂

Thank you, Brian. I pen my answer in a matter of minutes, but then spend the next half-hour or so scrolling pixabay for the right image (once a graphic designer, always a graphic designer)

Ah yes… no matter how much we encourage them to save, they will do what they will! (Some might heed advice – rarely; some, I swear, will do the exact opposite.)
Well done!
