This heraldic device is called an Achievement, and it records all the noble in-laws of the deceased. The red hand denotes a baronnet. Thus a person’s genealogy is displayed. I found this in Hethel church where the deceased was buried. Alas, I’m unable to decipher it.

Well, I’d taken the photo cos these things interest me (at one time I had a history blog on WP too). And it did answer the prompt. Otherwise that shot would have just remained unseen in my folder
