4th July. Sunny. Hot. We didn’t want long hours on a bus. We went to Norwich then walked to Mousehold Heath, the local beauty spot
A riverside walk, a good way to start the day
The depth of the valley shows the force of the river over the ages
Cow Tower, a gun emplacement in ages past
From River Wensum to St James Hill on Mousehold Heath, a noticeable climb! And a fantastic view of Norwich with its city hall, cathedral and so many churches
Trees. Shade. Bliss.
Some inhabitants are very old
Climbing up to the heathland plateau…
Open, exposed to the sun, the trees here already don their autumnal colours
A watering hole…great place to sit a while and have lunch
Alas, time to catch the bus to take us home…
But there are more photos to come. See Monday, see Tuesday…
Hope you enjoyed

Beautiful! I particularly loved the watering hole.

To me it looks Australian. It’s such a weird thing to see at a height above the river

To me, water should not be at the top of the hill. Has it not heard of gravity?

Like an area on the Alberta/BC border. As you climb up, you arrive at the ink pots, a series of mini lakes, result of the melting glaciers. Beautiful colours
