Resuming the walk from Lowestoft to Gorleston on 15th May, we’d reached Corton Woods… now to continue
Having untangled ourselves from the web of paths, we head back to the sea… to find it’s almost low tide. Truly
So we take the cliff path… oops! We’ve run out of land. Try again
There is beach down there but it’s too dangerous and all access is blocked
We continue along the cliff path. We’re heading to that misty-greyness in the distance
Closer now, we can see destination. Still a misty-greyness…
You want to see the sea? You want to walk down there? Not on your Nelly!
Ah! Sand. Beach. And a lot of teasels. Ok, it’s now safe to go down…
The last leg, north Hopton to south Gorleston and the sea defences are weary and worn and no longer effective
I like playing… but not when the sea is crashing over me!
The last stretch…
Erosion, a story repeated all along this coast
And we’re there, Gorleston beach
Hope you enjoyed the walk. Here we stop for a coffee before heading off to the bus to take us back across the river.
Some very good photographs there. Do you use a proper camera or just the one on your phone?

I have a mirrorless panasonic lumix, goes from macro to wide lens to x60 mag at touch of a bottom. But I’d say the clarity isn’t as good as it was on my canon. And keep it on auto cos I just can’t get with the aperture setting; they’re weird

Those waves were fierce! Wise decision to photograph from afar. A wonderful and wild walk today!

Probably no more fierce that the day they caught me midway across one of those bays! But at least this time tide was ebbing. It comes in so fast!

That coast line looks a bit treacherous 😮

Constant erosion since the submersion of Dogger Land 8,000 yrs ago. Come back in another 5000 yrs, probably East Anglia will be gone.
