I love this woman
She’s one of the best
But the prompts she gives us
I swear are a test
Not of our encyclopaedic knowledge
But how we’ll use the word
That’s not like the rest
Take today’s vellichor
To say of old bookshops would be a bore
48 words written for Sammi’s Weekend Word Prompt: Vellichor
Haha! Clever use of the word.

Excellent! I decided to read yours and Bill’s before writing mine… Something I don’t usually do but am glad I did as it has redirected me…

She tests us alright and I love your amused take on the prompt, Crispina!

This is my technique when I look at the word prompt and think OMG. Let’s start with that reaction. It works

Great take on the prompt. I’ll admit I was stumped by this one, but that’s half the fun 😁

When I’m stumped I like to return it to Sammi…

Well done, Crispina. Indeed, a challenge for us to manage.

I love the smell of old books. So easy to have riffed on that. But I thought everyone would and so wanted to avoid it

She does throw us a curved ball now and again, but they are usually in the dictionary, unlike this little devil! Great take and a spot-on picture.
My 48!

I was going to play on the “vellum” element, with it being Halloween, I could have got ghoulish (which I know Sammi would love). But I hauled back on that idea.

Dear Crispina,
Sammi does send us scrambling for our dictionaries, doesn’t she? Never a bore, for shore. 😉 Good job.
