Not Worth a Quid

Minoan Pot 1500-1450 BCE [from Wikipedia]

The lazy squid wasn’t worth a quid
Lazing, languid, amongst the prawns and langoustine
Forming liaisons potentially clandestine

The fisherman pulled the shrimps and the octopi out of his pot
Not a good catch, wouldn’t fetch him a lot
But that squid… if it livened a bit
Might con a grand lady’s cook to make a bid

  5. I usually have lobster on New Year’s, but this year it was just me and the hub at home so we were too lazy. 🙂

  6. Fun response, Crispina. I bet the squid wasn’t keen on looking lively if there was a chance that no sale meant it would be put back in the sea! 🙂
