This Slice of Light

Dark, my bed beneath the world
But wait
What glimmering?
What minor lifting of gloom?
It slithers, this slither of light
This slice that intrudes, that doesn’t belong.

But whence it comes, this fabulous crescent?
Has it fallen from above,
From Heaven’s High Arch?
Has it fallen to visit this Low Dark Vault?

Welcome, Light.

So many views of light to consider, so thanks for this one. I like it! Interestingly, As I look west, it’s dark – but it I walked over to look east, I’m sure the transition has started. Thanks for the reminder.

  6. This is a wonderful use of language Crispina, the repetition, the similar sound of words, very well done.
