Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
I think I already have an idea.

It’s what we say in the UK. We don’t tempt fate, we always allow for a collision with a bus

oh. I’d rather a MAC TRUCK. It’s instant! That one you can’t wait for. Unless you’re at a truck stop..hmm that ‘couldn’t happen. The truck would be stopped.

I took loads of lovely horse photos that day.
Then the following week, they wouldn’t come to us

Horses have free will, too. Yay! 🙂

Gosh yes. It’s amazing they were ever tamed. I remember my grandpa talking about breaking them to saddle.

I don’t like breaking anything.
😦
But, yeah. I hear ya. I think I always liked “Valley of the Horses” (from Auel’s Earth’s Children) because there as no ‘breaking’ of the horse there …

Jean Auel’s series was brilliant. So well researched. Enjoyed, enjoyed

Yeah. The only one I did not like much was the last installment, written many years after the others. It was a bit flat for me, but still – as a series, it is fab!

I found that last one contained unnecessary and unbelievable sex. I don’t like graphic sex in fiction unless it’s absolutely needed for the plot. And it wasn’t. It annoyed me so much, it sticks in my memory.

I didn’t even get to that part, I think. I never finished it. Looked forward to the book, began it, went ‘meh’ and put it down and gave it away. So … I guess I missed the part I wouldn’t mind missing anyway … 🙂

It was towards the end.
She had taken so long to produce that book. I think there were problems. There was something about her needing more research. And by then the publishing industry were insisting on a minimum of 3 sex scenes in books. Thank the heavens they no longer do that.
Sex sells… no comment

No comment. I don’t know why it needs to be there. Or be mandated to be a particular number. How nuts.

Thankfully, it was a passing fad. But the writing community still get heated on the subject. I have disagreements about it with my critique partner

Yeah. I find it unnecessary to have graphic sex scene outside of the genre of erotica (which I personally have no interest in). While sex is part of life, graphic descriptions of it in books, just for the sake of prurient interest of some, feel odd to me. Forced, in a way. Not my thing.

There’s been quite a heated discussion regarding this amongst the writing community on Twitter. I’m not saying I started it, but I definitely raised the flag for those against it

🙂 Well, heated it would be … (ducking…)
