Two flowering bushes of the byways …
Nothing to do with dogs, of course. Dog, here, means common. Yet how can such a delicate beauty be called common?

What a lovely day! And what a lovely thought, that a flower that pretty could be common and abundant.

Yep, some of the most common flowers are beautiful, and ofter overlooked

Makes me imagine a world where roses are everywhere and boring, but people fawn over a rare dandelion.

Nothing wrong with the humble dandelion. Most nutritious of plants. Which is why it is everywhere. It once was cultivated … or at least encouraged.

I love them! But I was speaking more to the idea that they’re considered humble and not valued very much in part because they’re so common. Or pick some other flower that fits the same idea, it was just a notion.

And a notion I liked.
Sorry, I’d just been watching a documentary on the history of the dandelion, and the coincidence was too much to ignore. 🙂

I didn’t even know that the dandelion had enough history to fill up a documentary, how curious.

Yea, that’s what I thought. That’s why I watched it. Though it was only a short documentary. If you’re interested, here’s the YouTube link:

What a great little history, I had no idea! I’ve added notes to my Eneana file: dandelions will almost certainly be showing up there.
