I discarded riches, discarded clothes
Discarded flesh from off my bones
To take the step incomparable
To stand before you,
Vulnerable.

Such a beautiful butterfly. I read it returns to you in May and is very people-friendly. Is there a story here? 🙂

With the butterfly? Nah. Just a photo taken a couple years back. I thought how vulnerable, yet trusting it looked. Seemed to suit the prompt.

Yes it does perfectly fit the prompt 🙂 That’s what I read. They actually trust people, or so this article said. That may have caused the demise of many, which makes the butterfly beautifully perfect. Nice write! 😊🌼🦋

So are you working on the level of metaphor, or has this risen to allegory?
I hope not the level of alligators, for one of them would destroy this butterfly in a moment.

If I say the word Gnosticism. will you catch on?
It links back to my take on Anathema, as in Nag Hammadi (2nd April).

I know I’ve been labelled as mad, but I’m not so mad that I’ll jump on a pyre in the hope of gaining two jots of divine wisdom.

Why? How many jots will it take before you jump on a pyre?

A hell of a lot more than two!

I thank you. I chose the photo for how vulnerable that butterfly seems, wings outstretched on the path
