   Age has a way of bending or in some cases removing the spine all together.. Nice photo too Crispina…

   Like a penguin loses its fluff, so does the ‘shroom. Funny how many things in nature have similar growth patterns, so to speak.

   It does look so fresh and new and pure. All those tiny spines make it look like some alien creature. I laughed at your commentary at the end!

     If you click tp emlarge. and look closely at the leaves around it, you’ll see lots of white dots: the spines it has shed

     I thank you, Sammi. It’s great that they get exposure. Though I’ve a whole load of fungi pics that aren’t of sufficient quality to post. I keep them more for my own reference. “Oh yes, I saw one of those … when was it, and where?” 🙂
