     Yea, I guess they are. Or Action Man helmets. Usually I find these cascading into every crevace of a rotten stump of a tree. Unusual to find them edgeing a path; probably a seepage from whatever was on the other side of a solid, wooden, peep-proof fence. 🙂

   Oh my they are beautiful. Most people I think miss the beauty of mushrooms. I love their variety of shapes, colors and awesome textures. Great shot.

     I thank you. I confess to being obsessed. But I do seek out the best photos for the blog, to show the variety in colour and form, and how unlikely some fungi seem. Happy you like. 🙂

   When I saw them on my Reader, I thought they might be blueberries- but I knew they couldn’t be because after all it is Fungi Sunday. Are they edible? If not they have a cousin that is… Well either that or the nice ladies at The Living Room are trying to knock a few of us outta the lunch line… 😉

     Alas, my field guide doesn’t say, neither yay nor nay. But the fact it doesn’t label them as poisonous might suggest edibility.
     I’m guessing they are burgundydrops, but they belong to a huge family, many of which differ only marginally. Myself, I wouldn’t rish eating them. But then, I’m a gastronomic wimp! 🙂

     No fungi today; it’s Asaric Update Sunday. But the fungi will be back next Sunday. Until I run out of decent and interesting fungi photos.
