Reviewing the Reviews

Did you watch Amazon Prime’s Rings of Power?

No, me neither. But I have seen several reviews on YouTube and…wow!

The reviewers’ major criticism concerns what the writers have done with Galadriel. I understand it though their reason is beyond me: they’ve made her a psychopath. Either that or she is displaying a very high degree of cognitive dissonance.

CCC230: Another Bridge

Another bridge
To span another chasm
Another bridge
To bring estranged friends together
Another bridge
Over river, over road, over rail
Another bridge, the highlights of the trail

Crimson’s Creative Challenge # 230

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory) by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN

Sunday Picture Post: Detoured

Last week we left our walk to take a slight detour, but deep sticky mud curtailed that. And so we turn around, to Burlingham Woods and Burlingham Church…

1st March 2023

White Blackthorn blossoms in every hedgerow

1st March 2023

The woodland walk to the church is white with swathes of snowdrops

1st March 2023

1st March 2023

And daffodils just beginning to show

1st March 2023

1st March 2023

At the church

1st March 2023

Heading back to Burlingham Woods…

1st March 2023

1st March 2023

1st March 2023

And then it rained…

1st March 2023

And I tucked the camera away until we were on the track back to the bus

1st March 2023

And that’s all for today, folks.

My Little Bro

Image by Thach Tran on Pixabay

Recalcitrant
Defiant
Pig-headed and stubborn
(aren’t they the same thing?)
Trampling through the delicate gardens
Of other peoples’ feelings
Never listening to warnings
He’s been told
Told in cursive, italic and bold
Told in asides, whispered and loud
He’s been slapped, pounded and bashed
With punishments I’d deem harsh
But does he listen?
Does he care?
Lost in his own world
Doesn’t want to hear
He remains plain unrepentant

CCC229: Desolate Tibbs

When Madelaine
Best friend of Tibbs
Transitioned to non-animate
When she ceased to breath
When she no longer moved
When the men came along
And carried her out
Tibbs hung about
Where would they take his dear friend Madelaine?

Seeing Tibbs sad and hungry
Tom next door offered fish on a dish
But Tom didn’t say
Where Madelaine might lay
Yet Madelaine’s soul called out to him
Told Tibbs where to find her
Where he should go
And there he remained
In the churchyard
