An odd assortment of photos taken on our walk on 28th October 2026. Enjoy…
Together these two photos say ‘Love You’ 🔼 Mistletoe is everywhere around here. This sprig was just above my head…just waiting for the kiss 🔽 The Yew is prolific with its berries this year
🔽 Later, as more trees shed their leaves, we’ll begin to see the richer autumnal colours. But for now… gold
🔽 This was a surprise, in a garden passed on the way to the common
These two shots happened while focusing on fungi! 🔼 What I love about fungi season is the unintentional photographs of the fallen leaves 🔽 I’d swear that’s some kind of woodland beast with its beady eye!
Smockmill common has three environments: Wooded hill. Grassy Meadow. Wet Woodland better known as a carr. Not surprising then that we find 🔼 Ferns 🔽 and ⏬Mosses
More berries 🔼 Spindle 🔽 Black Bryony
🔼 Reed Mace growing in River Tas, photographed from the bridge crossed on way to the bus stop
That’s all for now. Hope you enjoyed. And yes, we do have fungi photos this week. Check it out on Friday!

Looks like the leaves are slowly changing their color. Also, more berries! I enjoyed ☺️

Thank you. Yes, autumn has arrived. And we’ve not yet had enough rain to calm the colours

You’re welcome. It arrived here, too, as more leaves began turning yellow. I hope that rain comes soon. 🙏
