A medley of photos of flowers seen on our walk down to the Yare on 15th June 2026. Enjoy
š¼ Yes, it is a Potato flower. Very definitely a member of the nightshade family (in case you’ve ever doubted it) š½ Dog Rose, not sure what the red leaves are, but they make for an interesting photo
š¼ White Bryony. Love that twisting tendril. There’ll be plentiful (poisonous) red berries there in a few months time š½ Talking of berries… Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium)
š½ Bladder Campion. I love all the campions, but this is not so common
Fen-Meadow Flowers…
š¼ Common Spotted Orchid š½ Ragged Robin
š¼ Velvet Grass… has many other namesĀ š½ A true medley, too many to name
š¼ Common Meadow RueĀ š½ Purple Loosestrife…and bee
š½ Not actually a wetland plant, but it’s doing well here, almost rooted into the water: Valerian, and another bee
That’s all for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed. And yes, there will be some ‘flyers’ on Friday. Not many, but some.

Beautiful shots. I hope your ankle is faring better today?

Thank you, yes, the ankle is repairing. What I was surprised to see when crossing a potato field was the fruit. I was used to seeing the flowers; my father grew potatoes. But the fruit looks exactly like tomatoes. But of course, it’s logical really

I’ve a thing for grasses. This is most definitely my favourite. I’ve been trying for a decent shot of it for years. Think I might have done it with this one. Now I’d love to embroider the scene
