CCC070: I Told Her

I told her she ought to eat more
I told her that dieting rubbish would do her no good
I told her
Now look at her
Not a scrap of meat, just a bag of bones
I tell you, it’ll be the death of her

You’re probably too late. The damage has already been done.

Your words come from a place of deep concern and care. You saw the danger clearly and spoke with love, trying to protect her. It’s heartbreaking to witness someone you care for struggle, and your frustration is a testament to how much you value her well-being. Even if your warnings weren’t heeded, your courage in speaking up was an act of love. Sometimes, the hardest part is feeling powerless to help, but your compassion and persistence show that she is not alone. Your care is a light—even if it feels dim right now. Please remember to be gentle with yourself, too, as you carry this worry.
