A collection of photographs taken during our walk on 17th December 2025, Great Yarmouth’s North Denes (dunes). My comments are minimal since I don’t know the names of the lichens, mosses and most of the fungi. The most common grass here is Maram grass. Enjoy
🔼 Earth balls, mature form, tap it and watch the spore puff out like a cloud of smoke! 🔽
🔼 Sea Holly 🔽
Hope you enjoyed. Wish you a Happy New Year!

On the last two- is the brown leaf in the second to the last photo- the same plant as you show in the last one- or is it an odd leaf?

They’re both Sea Holly, but one’s dead & dried, while the other one is flourishing

I know where to look. Our dunes are wonderful, so much growing there. But they’re very low-growing and most people don’t notice them
