A few of the fungi we encountered during our walk on 12th November 2025. As usual, I don’t name unless I’m sure. Enjoy
🔼 I wish I could name this. Such a beautiful fungus
🔼 Magpie inkcap 🔽 ⏬ Two more species of inkcaps
🔼🔽 Can’t name these. Sorry
🔼 Parasol 🔽 Trametes (probably T. ochracea)
🔼 Purple jellydisc
🔼 Hoof fungus. Probably. But they could also be any number of bracket fungi 🔽
🔼 UFOs = Unidentified Fungal Objects 🔽
🔼 Possibly Redlead roundhead
Sorry I couldn’t name more. Hope you enjoyed anyway

What an interesting variety of shapes and colors.

The purple one is beautiful! I have never seen anything like that before. It reminded me of a cabbage.

Yea, I can see that! I’ve encountered several weird-shaped purple fungi. Seems to be a thing

Always such a delight to see the variety you present to us – whether you know the names or not. That first one, though, is absolutely stunning and ethereal-feeling. Gorgeous.

It is my favourite for this week. Maybe favourite for the season

With good reason! So delicate and pretty.

It wasn’t a prolific fungi-find day. But those we did find were good

Our weather has taken a cold turn. Don’t know how much longer we’ll see the fungi. Alas.

All good things, and all that. I like that there is a time for certain things. Makes one appreciate them more.

Being out every week (almost every week) taking photos of the natural world, it really does drive home the natural cycles, not just the flowers’ seasons, the butterflies, the fungi, but the warmth (and lack of it) the rains, the heat, the cracking earth

Indeed it does. As does my almost daily walks around my work and my weekend walks mostly in the same places. You would think it would get boring but I’m always finding new stuff.

We like the unusual and the distinctive. It’s been a good season so far. But with a rapid drop in temperature, I’m not sure it’ll continue to delight us

I’ve never seen a purple one before. Beuatiful!

There are several purple fungi, mostly the ‘jellies’. The ‘mushroom’ types tend to be paler, more mauve and amethyst

I assure you, I am not. Far from it. Wish that I were. But thank you for the compliment
