Jack laid his head in Ma Yarrow’s lap
He’d gone to her cos she had the knack
Of healing wounds with an herb poultice-pack
How did this happen? asked Ma Yarrow
He claimed he’d slipped on a loose stone
And tumbled and rolled all the way down
Oh, nothing to do with your girlfriend? asked Ma Yarrow
Who? What? With Jill? Well yeah, maybe
After all, she did hit me
She… why? asked Ma Yarrow
Claimed she’d seen me making honey with Daisy
Said she no more wanted to marry me
Yarrow is a healing herb anciently used to treat, especially, battlefield wounds

That Jill turned out to be a hard task master! hehehe

I’d say she knew her boundaries and stuck to them! 😂

Well now, making honey with another would be cause for disagreement…
Poor Jack.

Wow, I didn’t know that Yarrow was an ancient healing herb.

Not really so ancient. It was being used by herbalists even into the last century. I certainly grew up knowing about it, though I’ve never used it.

When I was first on WP I posted a series of nursery rhyme rewrites. But this was freshly written
